MBA Program Details

MBA Program is a two-year full time program at Ahmedabad University, under Amrut Mody School of Management (AMSoM)

Program offers an opportunity to students to opt for a major in various functional areas of Mgmt., like Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management; Minors in these areas as well as in Information Systems and Operations Management

Amrut Mody School of Management Admission through CAT 2015 and CMAT 2016-17

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have appeared for either CAT 2015 conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) or Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2016-17 conducted by AICTE are eligible to apply

A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent CGPA, of any University incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University u/s 3 of UGC Act, 1956

The Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent

In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree

In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by the AMSoM by dividing earned CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the quotient with 100

Such candidate must produce a certificate from the authority of the of the university/institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks (i.e. all the years grade/marks except the final year grade/marks), and; the candidate has completed all the requirements and has appeared for the exams/practical etc. for the final year/final term and that the results is awaited for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification

Selection Process

Candidates who have either CAT 2015 and /or Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2016-17, and seek admission in the MBA program at AMSoM, must apply in the prescribed form

Based on the cut-off as decided by the admissions committee, candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). All the shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for GD and PI at AMSoM campus on specified dates; these dates will be announced and the schedule will be put up on the website

Selection Matrix

Selection of students shall be done using the following criteria: CAT percentage/ CMAT percentage 50%; Personal Interview: 30%; Work Experience: 10%; Academic Performance plus 10%; Total: 100%

Reservations

There will be a reasonable relaxation in cut-off point for SC/ST/SEBC category candidates for admission in AMSoM MBA program

Payment for Securing

Candidates selected under the regular seats category are required to pay full fees of the first semester, i.e. Rs 64,000/- and confirm the admission

Candidates selected under NRI/NRI Sponsored category are required to pay full fee for the first year, i.e. US $5000, which should be sent from an NRI’s bank account

Admission by paying a cheque/DD of Rs 1,25,000/- which will be refunded after the full year’s tuition fee is received within 15 days after issuance of the confirmation cheque

Mode of Payment

Payment by Cheque/Demand Draft – Fees may be paid by cheque/demand draft drawn in favour of “Ahmedabad University”, payable at Ahmedabad, Gujarat

How to Apply

Candidates can apply for MBA program by downloading the application from the official website (http://pgim.ahduni.edu.in) as per schedule date. Candidates are advised must ensure their eligibility and other criteria before applying for the said course

Candidates may apply by sending duly filled application form along with the payment of the application fee of Rs.1000/-; the application fee can be paid via cash/demand draft in favour of “Ahmedabad University”, payable at Ahmedabad

Those candidates who want to apply to Regular as well as NRI seats should clearly mention the same in the application form; depending on the merit performance, he/she may be offered admission in the respective category
